Job summary

LJA is seeking a Sr Designer for Land Development to plan and prepare civil site/land projects with minimal supervision from the Project Manager. The role emphasizes cad standards, cost estimation, and coordination with review agencies.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, coordinating with junior staff and engineers, and developing subdivisions across the Houston metropolitan area. Strong CAD skills and 10+ years of drafting experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of drafting and design experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with establishing production budgets and deadlines.
• Understand FEMA submittals for projects.
• Apply manpower needs to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Prepare Engineer’s cost estimates and bid quantities.
• Delegate work to junior designers, EITs and drafters.
• Train junior designers and EITs in design processes.
