Job summary

EPS Corporation seeks a Sr Designer/Draftsman with five years’ experience to develop designs for complex engineering systems, including mechanical and electrical components, from planning to execution and presentation in graphics or detailed models.

The role requires proficiency in CAD/graphics in recent versions of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, working with ASME standards, and familiarity with Navy submersibles or SWCS-like systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical or electrical drafting and design.
• Experience with ASME drafting standards and NAVSEA/NIL? MIL-STD-31000B experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, review, and maintain engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation for manned/unmanned undersea vehicle systems.
• Create and modify detailed mechanical and electrical designs using CAD per MIL-STD-31000B and DRAWING REQUIREMENTS MANUAL standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts into fabrication-ready drawings and data packages.
• Ensure configuration management of all drawing packages using CMPRO or government tools in line with CM plans.
• Apply knowledge of fabrication methods and materials for undersea systems, including watertight enclosures and human‑machine interfaces.
• Provide redlines, NORs, and drafting notes to support engineering change processes.
• Contribute to technical data packages for prototypes, production units, and depot repairs.
• Develop/analyze anodizing, painting, and structural fit documentation to meet OQE and certification requirements.
