Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Design Manager in Phoenix to lead ground-up and build-to-suit projects across industries. You will guide teams through design and construction administration, ensuring on-time delivery and budget compliance while growing your project management experience on trendsetting projects.

The role requires 10–15+ years of architecture experience, licensure preferred, and strong leadership to mentor multiple project teams.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of related experience in ground-up/build-to-suit architecture projects
• Experience leading and mentoring multiple project teams
• Experience negotiating project scope and fees
• Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
• Fiscal accountability on projects
• Strong leadership and relationship management skills

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of projects, including project set-up, design and construction administration
• Create and communicate clear project objectives and requirements for the team
• Oversee scheduling, budgets, and coordination with sub-contractors and consultants
• Lead project teams of architects, design directors, job captains and graphic designers
• Track financial performance of projects and ensure on-time delivery
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding
• Ensure projects conform to contract requirements
