Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks a Design for Manufacturing Engineer to own VA/VE initiatives and ensure robust, cost-effective, production-ready equipment.

You will bridge design intent and factory execution, collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to reduce complexity, improve throughput, and lower total cost across HVAC and modular data-center equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in equipment design or DFM roles.
• Senior-level product design experience in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFM reviews to ensure manufacturing readiness.
• Identify and mitigate manufacturability risks related to tolerances and assembly.
• Drive design simplification and standardization across programs.
• Ensure designs support line-rate production with minimal rework.
• Embed Design for Safety principles in all designs.
