Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks a Design for Manufacturing Engineer to drive VA/VE and ensure robust, cost‑effective, production‑ready equipment designs. You’ll bridge design intent and factory execution for repeatable, rate‑driven manufacturing systems.

You will lead DFM reviews, reduce tolerancing risks, drive standardization, and ensure ergonomic, safe, and scalable solutions across HVAC equipment projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in equipment design or DFM-focused roles.
• Senior-level design experience in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFM reviews to ensure manufacturing readiness before release.
• Drive design simplification, part reduction, and modularization.
• Embed Design for Safety concepts from concept to release.
• Collaborate across Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Support PFMEA, virtual builds, and production sign-off activities.
