Job Juncture seeks a Senior Design Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on elastomeric components and precision mechanical systems for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. You will drive engineering strategy, foster technical excellence, and ensure cross-functional alignment with manufacturing and business goals.

The role requires 15+ years in mechanical design, 5+ years in leadership, and strong CAD/GD&T skills in SolidWorks or CATIA.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years in mechanical design/product development.
• 5+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and/or CATIA with strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with rubber molding, extrusion, and PLM/ERP systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the Design Engineering team; set priorities and resource plans.
• Review and approve CAD models, drawings, GD&T, specs, and test reports.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, MIL-SPEC and configuration control.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to enable production readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement and design-for-manufacturability standards.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Design Engineering Manager to lead their Design Engineering team in developing, validating, and optimizing elastomeric components and precision mechanical systems for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. You will drive engineering strategy, foster technical excellence, and ensure cross-functional alignment with manufacturing and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the Design Engineering team; establish priorities and resource allocation plans.
• Technical Oversight: Review and approve engineering deliverables (CAD models, drawings, GD&T, specs, and test reports).
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all design activities comply with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, MIL-SPEC, and configuration controls.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve complex technical issues and support production readiness.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive engineering efficiency, evaluate emerging technologies, and implement robust design-for-manufacturability (DFM) standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 15+ years in mechanical design/product development, including 5+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• CAD & Standards: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and/or CATIA, alongside strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5) skills.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Working knowledge of rubber molding, extrusion, and PLM/ERP systems (e.g., ENOVIA, Epicor).
• Plusses: Experience with aerospace sealing technologies, elastomers, composites, or automation.
