Job summary

SCS Engineers seeks an individual to lead conceptual planning and detailed design for Transfer Stations and MRFs, supporting construction and operations while growing this practice in the Southwest Region (CA, AZ, NV, UT). Role can be based in any Southwest office or remote.

Responsibilities include project management, client contact, proposals, budgets, and QA oversight, with emphasis on safety, quality, and profitability. PE is preferred; 10+ years’ design experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred but not required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant design experience with transfer stations and MRF’s.
• Business Development experience on the West Coast preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and foster team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on projects and supervise project staff.
• Serve as Project Director with emphasis on client contact and budgets.
• Contribute to QA program implementation in the Southwest Region.
• Provide expertise on equipment, design, permitting and operations of MRFs and Transfer Stations.
• Support business development initiatives and proposal planning.
