Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a Design Engineer to lead conceptual planning, detailed design, and construction support for Transfer Stations and MRFs in the Southwest Region, including CA, NV, AZ, NM, and UT. The role may be remote or office-based across the Southwest.

You will manage proposals, budgets, and client relations while guiding staff and ensuring high-quality results. PE preferred; 10+ years of relevant experience required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred but not required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant design experience with transfer stations and MRFs required.
• Business Development experience on the West Coast preferred.
• Strong oral presentation and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and foster team spirit with all levels of personnel.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on design of Transfer Stations and MRFs.
• Serve as Project Director on deliverables with emphasis on client contact and liaison.
• Support proposal development, budgets, and quality assurance in the Southwest Region.
• Provide guidance on equipment, permitting, commissioning, and operations for MRFs and Transfer Stations.
• Coordinate with staff on projects and oversee staff performance.
