Job summary

Sub-Zero Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Fitchburg, WI to lead the development of residential refrigeration products.

The role focuses on designing refrigeration and airflow systems that meet performance, energy, and regulatory requirements across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver innovative, reliable, and high-performing solutions, guiding lab teams and suppliers and contributing to the overall success of the New

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with energy regulations and standards.
• Experience in modeling/simulation and development of refrigeration systems.
• Ability to work in environments experiencing routine and rapid change.
• Functional knowledge of SolidWorks or related CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design refrigeration systems to meet regulatory and safety standards, and performance requirements from project initiation to production.
• Design of peripheral systems, including water dispensing, icemaking, and airflow delivery.
• Generate and convert ideas into design solutions while working independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate design alternatives based on cost, quality, and performance.
• Resolve issues related to energy regulations, safety, assembly, reliability, quality, fabrication, and testing.
• Active member of the New Product Development team with a willingness to work with internal and external customers, and suppliers.
• Responsible for testing performance, data analysis, and adherence to test plans to validate and verify design concepts.
• Inform, direct, and guide lab technicians and designers while completing tasks to meet project goals.
• Create and release engineering changes to execute design intent.
