Job summary

RTX is seeking a goal-oriented Principal Design Engineer to support the ESTO team in West Palm Beach, FL. You will drive production support, quality improvements, engineering changes, and cost reductions across multiple functions including operations, quality, procurement, and suppliers.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, cross-functional leadership, and producibility enhancements for commercial and military aerospace products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience in mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, production support, or related field is required.
• Aerospace hardware knowledge and manufacturing processes are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage corrective-action activities with QNs, cost reduction, and production support.
• Develop Class II engineering change packages using Pro-Cert methodology.
• Lead Engineering First Piece Reviews at suppliers and drive cost of poor quality improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement product/process improvements.
• Present technical content and program status to management and capture lessons learned.
