Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Actuation Design Engineering team. You will develop hydro/electromechanical and mechanical components and systems for flight control applications. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will have a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days/week in the office) in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities

1. Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.
2. Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
3. Contribute to design proposals by preparing designs, estimating costs, and assisting in writing technical documentation.
4. Collaborate effectively within a team, solicit and incorporate design feedback.
5. Represent Moog professionally, maintaining its technical reputation.
6. Create reliable designs through comprehensive testing programs.
7. Document designs, analyses, and test results accurately and concisely.
8. Assist in new product and market development efforts.
9. Stay updated with materials technology, industry design standards (Military, FAA, NASA, etc.), and modern analysis tools.
10. Supervise less experienced engineers and technicians when applicable.
11. Travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in design/development of electromechanical and mechanical components
• Must have access to U.S. export-controlled information

Preferred Skills

• Experience in aerospace industry
• Background in stress analysis, kinematics, materials strength, fluid mechanics, vibration
• Experience with closed-loop systems, servomechanisms, fracture mechanics, CAD software (preferably Siemens NX)
• DoD security clearance

Additional Information

Salary Range: $110,000.00–$160,000.00 annually in Torrance, CA. Actual salary depends on experience and performance. Other benefits include bonuses, stock purchase plans, and region-specific perks.
