Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Design Architect based in India.

We are seeking a talented Senior Design Architect to shape distinctive residential homes and community spaces that bring together architectural excellence, nature, and holistic well-being. In this hands-on senior individual contributor role, you will own the design direction from initial concepts through design development, translating creative ideas into thoughtful, buildable solutions. You will work on residential projects in the United States, including a nature-focused community in the Texas Hill Country, while contributing to future developments. Collaborating with architecture leads, BIM specialists, and U.S.-based consultants, you will balance aesthetics, site conditions, sustainability, and practical construction requirements. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of design decisions, establish standards, and present your vision directly to leadership. If you thrive in an autonomous, fast-moving, international environment and are passionate about creating healthier places to live, this role offers an exciting platform to make a lasting impact.

Accountabilities
  • Lead architectural concept development and design development for residential buildings and community spaces, including massing, floor plans, elevations, and material palettes.

  • Translate wellness-focused, nature-led design principles into practical architectural solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, sustainability, and buildability.

  • Develop and refine design concepts through sketches, drawings, renderings, and presentations, clearly communicating the design vision and rationale.

  • Respond thoughtfully to site characteristics, landscape, natural light, climate, and environmental considerations when developing residential designs and contributing to master planning.

  • Contribute to the planning and design of a large residential community in the Texas Hill Country, as well as future projects and potential development sites.

  • Establish and maintain design guidelines, material libraries, reference standards, and architectural quality benchmarks to ensure consistency across projects.

  • Review design work produced by other team members and provide clear, constructive feedback that strengthens design quality and alignment with the overall vision.

  • Present and defend architectural decisions to leadership, architects, consultants, partners, and other stakeholders, adapting communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Collaborate closely with architecture leads, BIM specialists, and U.S.-based consultants to carry design intent through development and toward construction.

  • Evaluate design alternatives efficiently, make well-reasoned recommendations, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining architectural quality.

  • Work independently in a remote, cross-cultural team, taking ownership of project deliverables, timelines, and design outcomes.

Requirements
  • Six to ten years of professional architectural design experience, with a strong focus on residential or hospitality projects.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating architectural design ability, creative judgment, and built or well-developed residential or hospitality projects. A portfolio is required to apply.

  • Proven ability to independently lead projects from initial concept through design development, including the production and refinement of plans, elevations, massing studies, and material selections.

  • Strong proficiency in Revit, which is a required tool for this role.

  • Demonstrated confidence in presenting, explaining, and defending design decisions to architects, consultants, leadership, and other stakeholders.

  • A strong understanding of how site context, landscape, light, climate, materials, and spatial planning influence the quality and experience of a home.

  • Ability to translate creative concepts into practical, coordinated design solutions that can progress toward implementation and construction.

  • High levels of autonomy, accountability, and initiative, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver quality work in a remote environment.

  • Excellent visual communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfort working with international teams and coordinating with U.S.-based stakeholders across different time zones, including daily overlap with U.S. working hours.

  • Preferred: Experience in sustainable, biophilic, environmentally conscious, or wellness-oriented architectural design.

  • Preferred: Experience working on U.S. real estate projects or within an international architecture or design firm.

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation: Monthly CTC ranging from ₹1,90,600 to ₹3,81,200, depending on experience.

  • Remote work: Work from India on residential and community design projects in the United States.

  • Flexible working arrangements: Flexibility in working hours, with daily overlap required with U.S. time zones.

  • Creative ownership: Direct responsibility for shaping architectural concepts and establishing design direction across projects.

  • Direct leadership access: Opportunities to present ideas, influence decisions, and work closely with leadership without multiple management layers.

  • Meaningful design mission: Contribute to residential environments that emphasize healthier living, nature, thoughtful material choices, and well-being.

  • International collaboration: Work alongside a distributed team of designers, architects, engineers, BIM specialists, and consultants.

  • Professional growth: Expand your experience in residential architecture, wellness-oriented design, and international project delivery.

  • Full-time opportunity: Senior individual contributor position with an anticipated immediate or within-30-days start, subject to the hiring process.
