Job summary

CARIAN is seeking a Senior Distribution Planning Engineer - DER Integration in New Jersey. The role focuses on hosting capacity analysis, CYME-based studies, DER integration, and planning with Power BI dashboards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electric utility distribution engineering, strong CYME proficiency, and experience with DER screening and grid modernization initiatives. Hybrid work arrangement with three days on site.

Qualifications

5+ years of electric utility distribution engineering experience.
Experience with CYME advanced analysis modules.
Hosting capacity analysis and distribution modeling experience.
DER integration experience and screening methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Perform CYME-based Hosting Capacity Analysis and automate study workflows.
Conduct distribution power flow analysis and validate models against field conditions.
Perform power quality analysis using AMI, SCADA, and field data.
Develop Level 1–3 DER screening workflows using CYME and Power BI.
Develop technical reports, study documentation, and SOPs.
Support DER integration and grid modernization initiatives.
