Job summary

VTG is seeking a Deputy Program Manager for the Engineering Systems Business Unit, supporting Department of Navy contracts from our Washington, DC office.

The role is hybrid, with responsibilities including program execution oversight, acquisition and resources management, and coordination with government program authorities. A strong background in DoD/Navy programs, PMP certification, and active DoD secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in program/project management, with 10+ years in DoD/Navy programs.
• BS/BA in Engineering or Business Management required; Masters preferred.
• PMP or equivalent certification required.
• Supervisory experience; ability to communicate with SES/Flag level personnel.
• Must have active DoD Secret Clearance or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the program manager with various contracted efforts.
• Interface with Government program authorities on technical and program issues.
• Oversee execution of contract requirements.
• Manage acquisition and employment of program resources.
• Prepare and deliver program summary reports with milestones and metrics.
• Develop and oversee employee competency development programs.
• Lead and direct the work of others and uphold standards for talent development.
• Collaborate with HR on performance management and development.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards.
• Identify government customer requirements and related opportunities.
• Participate in forums to build partnerships and capability understanding.
• Lead or contribute to pipeline development, capture strategies and proposals.
