Job summary

The City of Richmond's Department of Economic Development seeks an innovative Deputy Department Director Senior to oversee budget, finance, legislative, business investment, real estate, and marketing and communications. This unclassified position serves at the will of the Appointing Authority.

Responsibilities include data analysis, guiding business attraction and retention efforts, and implementing the Economic Development Authority's strategic objectives in collaboration with the Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in public administration or field directly related to assignment.
• Eight years of progressively responsible related experience including significant management and supervisory experience.
• A Master's Degree may be preferred for some departments
• An equivalent combination of training and experience may be used to meet minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Compiling and analyzing data from economic development activities and the implementation of the economic development strategic plan.
• Leading and assisting business attraction, retention, and expansion activities.
• Supporting the implementation of the department's strategic objectives as directed by the Director/Executive Director.
• Fulfilling the duties of the Director of Economic Development when required.
