Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory seeks a Deputy Controller and Director Financial Operations to lead the Business Management team on a 9x80 schedule at the EROB facility in Idaho Falls. You will guide policy, assurance, and cost accounting, ensuring robust controls and DOE compliance while partnering with stakeholders to align budgets, schedules, and workforce planning with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Finance with 2 years of leadership experience.
• Experience in federally funded environments such as national labs or research institutions.
• Knowledge of internal controls including OMB Circular A-1234 FMA evaluation and testing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of CAS, GAAP, FAR, DOE Financial Management Handbook, and related federal policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller in overseeing financial operations including Policy and Assurance, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, and cost accounting.
• Ensure robust internal controls and compliance across Financial Operations.
• Monitor KPIs and financial risks aligned with DOE oversight requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address findings with corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop finance staff; recruit and coach for high performance.
• Develop programs and training to enhance team capabilities and align with INL standards.
