Sequen AI is seeking a Strategic Delivery Lead to partner with customers as they adopt and deploy Sequen AI's ranking platform. You will bridge engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to translate business intent into reliable, value-driven deployments.
In this role you will own end-to-end customer outcomes, guide technical adoption, and help shape our deployment playbook across high-impact accounts, with equity upside and fast-moving growth.
Location: US Remote / San Francisco / New York City
Compensation Range: $170,000 – $280,000 USD + Equity
Building the ranking intelligence layer for the internet.
Sequen provides an integrated platform that pairs cutting‑edge frontier ranking models with the infrastructure to run them in production at sub-25ms latency and enterprise scale. The world's largest retailers, marketplaces, and travel platforms use Sequen to rank, recommend, and personalize, with an autonomous research engine that compounds model performance into revenue and margin lift measured in hundreds of millions of dollars per customer.
We're looking for a Strategic Delivery Lead to work closely with our customers as they adopt and deploy Sequen AI. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and go‑to‑market. You'll work directly with customers who are building with our technology—helping them translate intent into working systems, and ensuring they're able to get meaningful, sustained value.
This is not a traditional account management role. At this stage, it’s closer to a blend of technical advisor, product partner, and operator, where the quality of your judgment will matter as much as your execution.
White‑Glove Communication: Work closely with customers, providing first‑in‑class, white‑glove communication.
Understand Client Topology: Develop a deep understanding of customer goals, systems, and constraints.
Trusted Workflow Advisory: Act as a trusted partner as they design and deploy AI‑powered workflows.
Production Stabilization: Help customers move from initial experimentation to reliable production use.
API Integration Support: Support customers integrating with Sequen’s API systems.
Systems Architecture Advisory: Provide guidance on system design, prompting strategies, and performance trade‑offs.
Hands‑on Diagnostics: Help diagnose issues and unblock adoption in practical, hands‑on ways.
Technical Implementation: Guide technical implementation and usage across enterprise infrastructures.
Voice of the Customer: Be an advocate for the customer and translate customer needs back to the product team.
Pattern Identification: Identify patterns across customer usage and challenges.
Grounding Roadmaps: Communicate feedback to product and engineering teams to ensure what we build is grounded in real‑world use.
End‑to‑End Ownership: Take ownership of customer outcomes and drive long‑term customer success.
Organic Growth Discovery: Identify expansion opportunities and grow Sequen's digital footprint.
Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with both technical and business stakeholders.
Experience: 7–10+ years of experience in Deployment Engineering, Technical Program Management, Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, or a similar role.
API Fluency: Experience working with APIs or developer‑facing platforms.
Systems Core: Strong technical foundation with a clear understanding of system architecture and integrations.
Data Literacy: Ability to articulate analytics concepts like A/B testing.
Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage and build trust with both low‑level engineers and business executives.
Adoption Track Record: Demonstrated track record of driving software adoption, usage, and measurable customer success.
Cross‑Functional Nature: Experience working cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and go‑to‑market teams.
Domain Expertise: Experience working with AI/ML systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), or large‑scale data platforms.
Industry Vertical Coverage: Exposure to consumer‑facing integrations, particularly within retail, travel, or media/entertainment sectors.
Startup Mindset: Proven track record in fast‑growing startups or early‑stage, fast‑moving environments.
Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Rigorous Systems & Scientific Thinking: You balance algorithmic complexity with microsecond runtime latency constraints. You choose the right mathematical model for the client's current data maturity, prioritizing real‑world conversion metrics over theoretical vanity scores.
Uncompromising Ownership: You treat production stability and client performance as a personal reflection of code quality, taking pride in driving use cases end‑to‑end from feature engineering to live inference scoring.
Pragmatic Speed: You possess the startup velocity to design, deploy, and validate robust revenue‑generating prototypes quickly without accumulating debilitating technical debt.
Strategic Relationship Building: You can speak fluently with both deep research scientists and cross‑functional enterprise executives, proactively identifying new technical opportunities to unlock additional client value throughout the lifecycle of an engagement.
At this stage, a small number of customer relationships can meaningfully shape the trajectory of Sequen. This role is an opportunity to work directly with early clients, influence product direction, and help define how AI systems are deployed in real‑world environments.
Our founders are in customer Slack channels every day — there's no layer between you and the people building the product, and your customer signal shapes the roadmap in weeks, not quarters. Sequen doesn't yet have a formal deployment/customer‑success function; the person in this seat helps define that playbook and is on a credible path to grow and lead it as the team scales. You'll also be joining a small, senior, low‑drama team, with meaningful equity in a company with real product‑market fit and real revenue.
By 30 days: You've shadowed active customer engagements, met the key technical and business counterparts across your accounts, and can speak to the current state of each deployment.
By 90 days: You're independently driving the day‑to‑day of your accounts — technical enablement, status updates, escalations — and you've already surfaced and resolved at least one risk before it became a blocker.
By 6 months: You've helped move at least one account from initial deployment to reliable, expanding production use, and you're a trusted technical voice in customer working sessions.
By 12 months: You're helping shape how Sequen's customer deployment practice scales as the team grows.
