Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff/Principal Deployment Automation Engineer for the Compute Team to own deployment and testing automation for large-scale, multi-node GPU clusters. You will manage CI/CD infrastructure to deploy and test a rapidly scaling AI Cloud fleet across datacenters.

Located onsite in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and Bellevue, you’ll build scalable automation, validate performance, and enable rapid releases with robust rollback capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 12+ years of experience deploying automation for AI cloud infra and multi-node clusters.
• Experience building automated integration testing for AI cloud environments from Linux to distributed control planes.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Postgres.
• CI/CD pipelines and GitLab tooling to enable stable infrastructure releases across datacenters.
• Configuration management with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
• Automation and scripting in Python and Bash.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel internals (PCIe, VFIO, memory management).
• Familiarity with NVIDIA CUDA/NCCL and/or ROCm stacks in multi-node contexts.
• Strong understanding of RDMA, RoCE, InfiniBand in virtualized systems.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment and integration testing automation for bare‑metal and on‑prem systems in Crusoe’s AI Cloud Stack.
• Build CI/CD platforms enabling rapid testing, iteration, and deployment of low‑level systems.
• Design and run large‑scale validation tests across multi‑node clusters for scalable GPU workloads.
• Maintain Linux configurations with a mix of custom and off‑the‑shelf tools (GitLab, Ansible, AWX, osquery).
• Create control apps to coordinate canary deployments and blue/green testing with automatic rollback.
• Develop automation frameworks in Python or Go to provision, configure, and stress‑test multi‑node environments.
• Create automated test suites with fio, stress-ng, and iperf for performance and isolation.
