Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks an Electrical and Electromechanical Systems Engineer III to advance hardware development, integration, and deployment of measurement systems in support of national-security missions.

Based in Richland, WA, the role emphasizes hands-on engineering, learning the technical mission area, and collaborating with sponsors to drive project success while ensuring safety and security compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA with 5+ years of relevant work experience, or MS/MA with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Preferred Qualifications: degree in Electrical/Controls/Systems/Nuclear Engineering or related field; experience with control systems or instrumentation hardware; hands-on wiring, sensors, DAQ, power supplies, relays, interlocks; data analysis with Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW; multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for prototype and deployed instrumentation.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot control-system hardware for gas-processing systems.
• Troubleshoot low- and high-voltage circuits, sensors, interfaces, and grounding in lab and deployment environments.
• Support electromechanical system development, assembly, verification, and field deployment activities.
• Coordinate with scientists, software and mechanical engineers, technicians, and sponsors to deliver safe, reliable outcomes.
