Job summary

Terracon's Lynnwood office is growing. We are seeking a Department Manager to lead our Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections team of 30+ professionals, ensuring high-quality work, on-time delivery, and adherence to client requirements and Terracon standards.

Responsibilities include guiding proposals and cost estimates, staffing and career development, and driving the department’s annual business plan while monitoring revenue, billing, and project profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geology required.
• Minimum of 8 years’ practice experience; 12 years’ related experience in lieu of degree.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• PE licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 30+ professionals in Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections.
• Provide oversight to proposals, cost estimates, and client scoping.
• Manage safety, staff development, equipment utilization, and project delivery within budget and quality standards.
• Develop and execute the department annual business plan and monitor key metrics (revenue, billings, profitability).
• Support business development and maintain client relationships.
