Job summary

Amgen in North Carolina seeks a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer to lead automation engineering for the new drug substance facility. You will own DeltaV DCS, drive CAPAs and deviations, and collaborate with capital projects to deliver robust automation solutions.

The role requires strong leadership, GMP knowledge, and hands-on experience with DeltaV Live and system validation. Onsite day-to-day responsibilities include 24x7 asset support and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in automation engineering and process controls in a GMP biopharmaceutical setting.
• Ability to lead engineering staff and manage validation/documentation requirements.
• Strong knowledge of DeltaV DCS and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain DeltaV process control systems for the drug substance plant.
• Collaborate with SMEs to translate process requirements into automated solutions.
• Lead CAPAs, change controls, and deviations for ongoing operations.
• Support commissioning, IV/ACO, and qualification activities in a GMP environment.
• Prepare SOPs and cGMP documentation; drive continuous improvement.
