Shield AI is hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer to support technical sales for a flagship aircraft program in early design and development. This role requires a proven leader with defense experience and the ability to interface with DoD and international ministries of defense.

You will lead pre-sales engagements, shape requirements, and collaborate with executive leadership across BD, Engineering, and Product Management to align product roadmaps with customer concepts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical sales, capture, or engineering in defense/aerospace with DoD/industry exposure.
• Experience supporting government sales in pre-prototype/pre-solicitation phases.
• Strong ability to present and articulate complex technical concepts to leadership.
• Experience with programs involving tactical aircraft, fighter jets, or group 5 UAS.
• Proven success in deals valued over $15M.
• Systems-level understanding of aircraft design tradeoffs and CONOPS.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Excellent written/spoken communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Active U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Lead pre-sales engagements for a new advanced aircraft platform targeting high-end missions.
• Collaborate with executives to influence product definition and roadmap alignment with customer concepts.
• Support technical capture for domestic and international opportunities in early phases.
• Translate customer needs into actionable system requirements and roadmaps.
• Develop technical narratives for briefings, RFIs, white papers, and proposals.
• Build relationships with customer technical stakeholders including DoD and foreign governments.
• Contribute to internal investment decisions by assessing market signals and competition.
• Represent Shield AI solutions across the pre-sales lifecycle.
