Armtec Defense Technologies, an operating unit of TransDigm Group, seeks an R&D Manager in Coachella, CA to lead a strategic growth program from concept to production for defense and related applications.

The role reports to the Director of Engineering for Ordnance and involves coordinating across functional groups, managing budgets, risks, and schedules while mentoring staff and providing regular status updates to senior management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years on defense programs.
• Advanced degree holders preferred.
• DOD experience or understanding of defense contracting.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 procedures.
• Some military or college training in PM/Program Management.
• Dependable, responsible and accurate with people skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify products suited to Armtec operations with customer staff.
• Coordinate activities across functional groups to deliver a qualified product on time and within budget.
• Prepare and manage capital expenditure requests for facility and equipment.
• Ensure activities are executed to deliver high-quality products on time and cost targets.
• Develop detailed work breakdown structures for program activities.
• Identify program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop product launch, marketing and distribution campaigns.
• Liaise with customers and partners to create efficient program plans and statements of work.
• Utilize internal and external resources effectively for program execution.
• Mentor potential program management staff.
