Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager / Subcontract Manager in Bolton with hybrid working (1-2 days onsite per week) and international travel. You will lead a team of procurement professionals across defence programmes, manage complex supplier contracts, and drive performance and compliance throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement and subcontract management or related supply chain functions.
• Track record negotiating contracts and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Experience leading procurement teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance and due diligence processes.
• Experience supporting tendering and competitive sourcing activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of procurement specialists across multiple programmes.
• Manage high-value supplier contracts and subcontract arrangements through full lifecycle.
• Ensure procurement activities meet time, budget and quality constraints.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with key suppliers and subcontractors.
• Provide procurement guidance to project, engineering and technical teams.
• Drive supplier performance, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Ensure governance and procurement procedures are followed.
• Support tendering, supplier selection and new business opportunities.
• Lead negotiations to protect business interests and maximize value.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while seizing opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, customers and senior stakeholders.
• Support delivery of complex engineering and defence projects via subcontract management.
