Qualifications

• Deep expertise in SQL Server: performance tuning, indexing, Always On AG, replication, security hardening.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake: data modelling, Snowpipe, dynamic tables, RBAC, cost optimisation.
• Proficiency with Terraform for database infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with declarative and state-based deployments. Production experience with Flyway, Liquibase, or Atlas.
• Understanding of schema-as-code: versioned migrations, idempotent scripts, environment promotion, drift detection.
• Powershell and/or Python for automation; Go is a plus.
• Proficiency with CI/CD & GitOps integrating database deployments into DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate SQL Server and Snowflake workloads, building automated provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Implement high-availability solutions and declarative management across SQL Server and Snowflake.
• Own and drive declarative, state-based deployment practices with version-controlled schema changes.
• Provision and manage database infrastructure using Terraform with structured, repeatable deployments.
• Develop GitOps workflows and observability pipelines using OpenTelemetry, Loki, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Create migration tools to transition from VMs and managed services to the platform.
• Build self-service interfaces and implement security controls within database environments.
