Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management L.P. is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the firm's internal developer platform, with a strong focus on infrastructure, data services and runtime enablement.

You will champion SRE and DevOps practices, implement CI/CD, IaC, and work across cloud and on‑prem environments to ensure scalable, reliable software used by engineering, research, and trading teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years hands-on experience architecting and delivering production-ready software.
• Strong software development experience in Go and Python.
• Hands-on with agentic workflows and SDKs.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with distributed high-throughput systems.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Excellent written and spoken communication; able to document architecture clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions that accelerate development with agents from code generation through testing and deployment.
• Develop solutions enabling investment teams to mobilize ideas in minutes.
• Architect and maintain scalable, reliable platform components used across the business.
• Contribute to standards and utilities to drive efficiency and standardization.
• Design and automate deployment pipelines and operational processes.
• Champion SRE and DevOps practices across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for production reliability.
