Job summary

Norwegian Cruise Line America is seeking a 3rd Officer to join its shipboard team. You will support watch-keeping, assist Navigation, Lifesaving, and Fire Fighting duties, and report to OOW and Staff Captain, ensuring safe operation of the vessel and compliance with SEMS, SOLAS, and USCG requirements.

The role requires a maritime education, minimum high school diploma, and a license suitable for Unlimited Second Officer, plus proficiency in English and in at least one other language.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and Fidelio preferred.
• Intermediate verbal and writing skills in another language such as German, Spanish, French or Italian preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced English verbal and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist watch-keeping duties as part of the Navigation team.
• Support safety, security, and environmental compliance per SEMS/SOLAS/USCG.
• Assist with vessel records, equipment status, and bridge signaling procedures.
• Coordinate with OOW and Staff Captain on duty allocations and instruction.
