Job summary

NCLA Norwegian Cruise Line America is seeking a Deck Cadet to assist in deck maintenance and mooring operations aboard a US-flagged vessel. You will support the Navigation team with charts, voyage planning, and daily position reporting while adhering to safety, environmental and SOLAS regulations.

The role requires the ability to work in tight quarters and in a multicultural crew environment. Experience in hospitality service and teamwork is valued.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate to Advanced English verbal and writing skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with changing schedules.
  • High school diploma or foreign equivalency required.
  • Courses or training in safety/environmental regulations required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with deck maintenance, mooring operations and vessel cleanliness.
  • Support Navigation with charts, voyage plans and reports.
  • Assist in lifesaving equipment maintenance to SOLAS standards.
  • Participate in Safety training and crew instruction.
