Job summary

Starbucks is seeking a Decision Scientist Principal to define and shape the Finance Data Science and Decision Intelligence strategy. You will identify opportunities where data, AI, and predictive intelligence improve business performance and accelerate Finance transformation.

Success requires connecting business strategy to analytics, influencing executives, and driving adoption of advanced decision-support capabilities. You will mentor finance data scientists and champion analytical excellence.

Qualifications

BA/BS or equivalent experience.
Experience with cloud tech for data and analytics solutions (Azure, AWS).
Expertise in Excel, SQL, Tableau/PowerBI and Python, R or other advanced analytics scripting language.
Experience in data methodologies and insights operationalization for business impact.
Excellent attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication.
10 years of experience in the designated field.
MS concentration preferred in Stats, Math, CS, Eng, Econ, Psychology, Quantitative Social Science, or similar.

Responsibilities

Define and shape Finance Data Science and Decision Intelligence strategy.
Identify opportunities where data, AI, and predictive intelligence can drive value.
Partner with Finance, Starbucks Technology, and enterprise teams to scale capabilities.
Mentor and coach Finance data scientists and establish best practices.
