Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company in Seattle is seeking a Decision Scientist Principal to define and shape the Finance Data Science and Decision Intelligence strategy. You’ll identify, prioritize, and advance opportunities where data and AI can improve performance and accelerate Finance transformation.

You will influence executive stakeholders, mentor data scientists, and translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes while fostering a data-driven culture and delivering sustainable business

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• Experience with cloud tech for data and analytics solutions (Azure, AWS).
• Expertise in Excel, SQL, Tableau/PowerBI and Python, R or other analytics scripting.
• Experience with data methodologies and operationalization.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• 10 years of experience in the designated field.
• MS concentration preferred in Stats, Math, CS, Engineering, Econ, Psychology or related.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategy and transformation by defining and evolving Finance’s data vision and strategy through analytics, AI, automation, and emerging tech.
• Enhance decision intelligence practices and deliver business value by translating challenges into high-value analytical solutions.
• Establish partnerships with Finance, Starbucks Technology, and enterprise teams to drive prioritization and scalable capabilities.
• Mentor data scientists and promote best practices in advanced analytics and decision intelligence.
