Job summary

Instructure is seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to lead complex analytics initiatives and partner with senior stakeholders across product, marketing, and engineering. You will design and execute experiments, build models, and deliver strategic recommendations that drive adoption, engagement, and revenue growth.

The role emphasizes AI-first thinking, reproducible analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to raise analytical quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• 5-7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related discipline with a track record of delivering high-impact, cross-functional insights.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, causal inference, and experimental design (A/B testing).
• Deep familiarity with AI tooling to improve throughput and analytical quality.

Responsibilities

• Drive business impact through data-driven insights and high-value opportunities across product adoption, engagement, and revenue growth.
• Lead experimentation and causal analysis; design and run rigorous A/B tests and causal studies; promote experimental rigor.
• Partner with product, engineering, and marketing leaders to translate questions into analytical frameworks and strategic recommendations.
• Deliver end-to-end analytical solutions from problem definition to deployment and measurement.
• Mentor peers and elevate team practices in methodology, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
• Communicate insights clearly to executive leadership and non-technical audiences.
