Job summary

Instructure is seeking a Director of Decision Science to build and lead a team that turns data into decisions. You will own the decision science function: people, roadmap, and standards, while partnering across product, engineering, marketing, finance, and the executive team to deliver actionable insights.

You will oversee development of predictive, prescriptive, and causal models that inform product decisions, pricing, and operating efficiency, and you will raise the bar for how insights reach

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data science, analytics, or decision science, including 3+ years in people leadership.
• Track record of analytical work that influenced decisions and delivered measurable results.
• Deep expertise in experimental design, causal inference, statistical modeling, and ML, with ability to choose methods wisely.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the decision science team, hire, onboard, and develop analysts and scientists.
• Set strategy and roadmap for the function; decide problems to tackle and how success is measured.
• Partner with product, engineering, marketing, finance, and executives to translate business questions into analytical problems.
• Develop predictive, prescriptive, and causal models to inform product, pricing, and operating decisions.
• Raise the bar on insights delivery from dashboards to executive readouts.
