Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Decision Intelligence to build, deploy, and operate production ML and decisioning pipelines for the NBA Decision Intelligence Platform.

You will own production pipeline development, MLOps, feature engineering, scoring workflows, monitoring, and optimization-aware decisioning to ensure the right actions are taken for members while respecting clinical constraints and program goals. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in computer science or relevant field.
• 5+ years (post undergraduate level) of software engineering or quantitative research experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
• 2+ years (post graduate level) of software engineering or quantitative research experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing reinforcement learning, operations research methods, or simulation-driven decision systems in production.
• Deep familiarity with Markov Decision Processes and related techniques.
• Proficiency in Python 3.x; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with Ray RLlib or equivalent distributed computation frameworks.
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake for large-scale ML data pipelines.
• Experience with MLflow for experiment tracking and model management.
• Experience with shipping production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and operate ML pipelines in production.
• Develop and optimize decisioning workflows with monitoring.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, data engineers, and product owners to deliver scalable, auditable systems.
