Job summary

Ameresco, Inc. is seeking a Level 3 DDC Controls Technician to lead and execute complex commercial building automation projects in Southwest Florida. You will program, startup, and commission DDC systems, while troubleshooting and guiding junior technicians.

You will work closely with mechanical contractors, electricians, and project teams to deliver reliable, energy-efficient building controls across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with DDC controls and building automation.
• Advanced programming on Reliable, Niagara, Tridium, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP-based networks.
• Experience integrating DDC with HVAC equipment and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret control drawings, schematics, and sequences.
• Solid understanding of low-voltage controls wiring and 24VAC systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead and execute DDC control installation, programming, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and closeout for complex commercial projects.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and sequences to develop functional control solutions.
• Program controllers, graphics, and peripheral equipment using platforms like Reliable, Niagara, or Tridium.
• Develop control logic to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.
• Perform point-to-point checkout, commissioning, and performance verification.
• Troubleshoot complex controls issues and coordinate with other trades as needed.
• Provide field direction and mentor junior technicians.
