Job summary
Ameresco is seeking a Building Automation Specialist to program and implement Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for building automation projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers and technicians to ensure proper integration of controls with HVAC, lighting and energy management systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with DDC programming tools and standards, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for energy efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a DDC Controls Programmer in building automation.
- Proficient in programming software used in DDC systems, such as Niagara, Talon or Distech.
- Knowledge of building automation systems and communication protocols (BACnet/Modbus/LonWorks).
Responsibilities
- Develop DDC control strategies and program, commission and configure DDC systems.
- Integrate DDC with HVAC, lighting, security and energy management systems.
- Write and test control programs, commission systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Monitor performance, optimize energy efficiency and system reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and technicians to ensure project success.
- Prepare documentation including control sequences and wiring diagrams.
