Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced DCS Engineer to lead ABB AC450 migration projects from design through commissioning and startup. You will be the technical lead for customers, ensuring quality and on-time delivery, while configuring AMPLE-based ABB DCS applications.

The role isHybrid in Columbus, OH within Automation - Process Industries, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and shape reliable control solutions using MasterView and related ABB tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DCS application engineering, including design, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and support.
• Proficiency in AMPLE programming, with demonstrated experience developing, modifying, and troubleshooting ABB DCS applications.
• Experience with ABB AC450 DCS Controllers and migration methodologies.
• Preferred: experience with ABB Pulp & Paper Library.

Responsibilities

• Lead ABB DCS projects, including AC450 migration programs, with full technical ownership from design through commissioning and startup.
• Design, configure, test, and commission ABB DCS applications, including AMPLE-based control applications.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout project execution.
• Develop engineering work plans, schedules, and cost estimates to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Support proposal and tendering activities with technical expertise for DCS migration and automation projects.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for installed systems.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
