Job summary
LVI Associates is seeking a Senior DCS Automation Engineer in Houston, TX, focusing on Honeywell Experion PKS and legacy TDC systems. You will lead control system engineering for capital projects, design DCS and SIS architectures, and guide projects from design through commissioning.
Ideal candidates have 10+ years in automation with chemical/continuous process experience, PE beneficial, and are comfortable with a four-day workweek and travel below 25%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
- 10+ years of automation, controls, or process control engineering experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Honeywell Experion PKS and legacy TDC systems.
- Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), PLCs, HMIs, or other DCS platforms.
- PE license is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lead control system engineering activities for capital projects and plant upgrades.
- Design and configure DCS, safety systems, operator interfaces, and industrial networks.
- Support control narratives, functional specs, and operational philosophies.
- Manage project scopes, including scheduling, resources, budgeting, and oversight.
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to report progress and milestones.
- Ensure automation deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Provide technical guidance from design through commissioning and startup.
