Job summary

Sirius Staffing seeks an experienced Database Administrator (SQL Server / Oracle) to join a hybrid team in Brandon, FL / Lutz, FL. You will support enterprise databases, lead deployments, and collaborate with developers, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years of Database Administration experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise database architectures.
• Hands-on experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup/Recovery, and Replication technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working directly with developers, project teams, and business users.
• Proven ability to document technical solutions and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
• Lead database deployments as part of modernization and transformation initiatives.
• Participate in the implementation of vendor software solutions, including GIS-related systems.
• Design and recommend database architectures that meet business requirements and align with IT standards and procedures.
• Create and maintain database reference architectures for technical and business review.
• Build new database systems and enhance existing environments.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and scalability.
• Support High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Replication strategies.
• Collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, integrators, developers, and end users.
• Maintain thorough technical documentation and communicate changes effectively to the database team.
• Mentor junior DBA team members and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in operational support activities and on-call rotations as required.
