Job summary

Partner Company in the United States is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to provide senior-level database administration for production applications and cloud environments. You will manage MySQL and PostgreSQL databases across AWS services, ensuring reliability, security, performance, and scalability in collaboration with application teams and business stakeholders.

Your role combines hands-on engineering with lifecycle management, backup strategy, and security administration to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 15+ years of professional database administration experience.
• Extensive experience with MySQL 5.7/8.0 and PostgreSQL 12–16.
• Significant experience with Amazon RDS or Aurora.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in the AWS Cloud (RDS/Aurora).
• Install, configure, and optimize database instances and apply security patches.
• Manage database security, IAM authentication, and VPC security groups.
• Develop and maintain database objects and optimize vacuum and buffer settings.
• Monitor health and performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform tuning.
• Develop backup strategies to meet availability and recovery requirements.
• Support application development teams and stakeholders with database issues.
• Maintain DB lifecycle management per standards.
