Job summary
Odyssey Information Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Db2 for z/OS DBA / Precisely Connect CDC Engineer to support enterprise data replication environments. The role is approximately 80% Precisely Connect CDC and 20% Db2 for z/OS DBA.
You will administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Precisely Connect CDC, support Db2 for z/OS as a CDC source, analyze logs, and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on Precisely Connect CDC (SQData) production experience.
- Strong Db2 for z/OS DBA experience.
- Experience supporting Db2 for z/OS as a CDC source.
- Strong understanding of CDC capture, publisher, replication, and apply processes.
- Knowledge of Db2 logging, transactions, commit/rollback, and recovery.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex replication and data consistency issues.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Precisely Connect CDC (formerly SQData).
- Support Db2 for z/OS as a CDC source.
- Troubleshoot replication failures, latency, missing transactions, connectivity, and data consistency issues.
- Support CDC configuration, schema/table changes, synchronization, restart, and recovery.
- Analyze Db2 logs and transaction processing to identify root causes.
- Work with technical teams to resolve production issues.
- Participate in occasional on-call/weekend support.
