Odyssey Information Services, Inc. seeks a hands-on Senior Db2 DBA specialized in z/OS and Precisely Connect CDC to support, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise data replication environments.
This remote, United States–based role is 40 hours per week, full-time, with occasional on-call and weekend coverage; start ASAP on a 3+ month contract with potential for extension. You will manage CDC configuration, monitor replication latency, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with DBA,
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Db2 for z/OS in production environments.
- Proven experience with Precisely Connect CDC (formerly SQData).
- Solid understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) architecture (capture, publisher, CDC/transaction storage).
- Experience configuring and supporting Db2 for z/OS as a CDC source.
Responsibilities
- Administer IBM Db2 for z/OS in enterprise production environments.
- Manage Precisely Connect CDC configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance, and maintenance.
- Configure and support Db2 for z/OS as a CDC source.
- Start, stop, monitor, and troubleshoot CDC components.
- Troubleshoot replication latency, missing transactions, replication failures, connectivity, capture, publisher, and apply/target issues.
- Manage CDC configuration for Db2 table changes, additions, or removals.
- Investigate schema/DDL changes and data synchronization issues.
- Support CDC restart and recovery activities.
- Analyze Db2 logging, transactions, and CDC activity to identify root causes.
- Differentiate between source, CDC, and apply issues; collaborate with DBAs and engineering teams.
