Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with strong DB2 expertise to support mainframe DB2 environments. You will manage backups, restorations, performance tuning, and security, ensuring production stability and disaster recovery readiness.

The role requires 10+ years of DB2 experience, mainframe skills, and the ability to work across time zones. We offer remote work within the United States and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of professional experience in DB2 for administration and application support.
• Extensive experience with administrating and supporting databases in Mainframe DB2.
• Expert Performance tuning to include reducing MIPs consumption rates.
• Proficient in DB2 control functions.
• Support multiple DB2 subsystems simultaneously.
• Analyzing new versions of DB2 for functionality that can improve client’s systems.
• Refreshing test data for whole environments.
• Supporting DB2 security requests.
• Review DB2 security to find potential risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide premium DB2 DBA support and services to Ensono mainframe clients.
• Perform database creation, development, administration and tuning for development, test and production databases.
• Maintain backups, restores, monitoring, reorganizations, and DR procedures.
• Provide technical advice to application development and production support groups and assist in performance testing and tuning.
• Develop and maintain logical database standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with vendor personnel for timely solutions to database problems.
• Fulfill client requests and change orders for mainframe z/OS clients related to DB2.
• Provide primary support for reported problems related to client DB2 tablespaces.
• Participate in 24x7x365 on-call as needed.
• Assist migration of new clients and disaster recovery planning.
