Job summary

MetLife’s Global Technology team is hiring a Senior Database Administrator to design, implement, and support IBM DB2 LUW and Informix environments across enterprise applications. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and manage backup, recovery, and migration tasks.

You’ll mentor staff, collaborate with development teams on query optimization, and automate routine DBA work using Python and Ansible in a hybrid in-office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field required.
• Four years of DBA experience with DB2 LUW and Informix.
• UNIX/Linux shell scripting to automate tasks and document processes.
• Experience with database security, tuning, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Cloud, DevOps, and automation tools such as Ansible and Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support DB systems across enterprise applications.
• Manage design, distribution, performance, replication, security, availability, and access.
• Write scripts to automate DBA tasks and document maintenance flows.
• Mentor staff on database management and best practices.
• Advise developers on security, queries, and performance.
