Job summary

Annexa, Inc. is seeking an IBM DB2 Database Administrator to develop, maintain, and optimize the DB2 environment that supports the DESTINY application for DC Government. You will ensure high availability, data integrity, and seamless operation of mission-critical systems.

The role requires extensive experience with IBM DB2 on LUW or z/OS, strong SQL skills, and collaboration with OCTO infrastructure teams to align with security and disaster recovery requirements.

Qualifications

• 16+ years of database design, documentation, and coding.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize the DB2 database environment that supports the DESTINY application.
• Ensure high availability, performance, data integrity, and seamless operation of the DMV’s mission-critical systems.
• Manage, configure, and maintain DB2 databases on mainframe platforms; installation, upgrades, patches, migrations, and version management.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and tune DB2 components.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to meet OCTO/DMV continuity requirements.
• Collaborate with OCTO infrastructure teams on server performance, storage, and network connectivity.
• Ensure schema modifications, indexing, partitioning as required.
• Provide knowledge and support to District agencies and stakeholders.
