Job summary

Cox is seeking a Database Administrator to manage day-to-day health, reliability, and performance of enterprise databases hosted on AWS. The primary platforms include PostgreSQL or MySQL on Linux/AWS RDS, with Oracle 19c also welcome.

Reporting to Lead DBA, you will monitor, maintain, backup, and optimize databases across Production, QA, and Development environments, implement security RBAC, and collaborate with application teams during deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL on Linux or Oracle 19c on Linux.
• Strong backup/recovery strategies and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, performance, and availability of production, QA, and development databases on AWS.
• Execute maintenance: table reorganization, index rebuilding, statistics gathering, and schema management.
• Administer databases on Linux EC2 and AWS RDS, including patches and upgrades.
• Perform backups and restores, verify recovery procedures, and monitor backups.
• Triage alerts, investigate root causes, and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and support deployments.
