Job summary

The HT Group seeks a Senior Database and Application Administrator in Austin, TX for a 6-month contract-to-hire. The role is hybrid—onsite 3 days per week with 2 days remote if desired—and involves managing a large SQL server estate and related applications.

You will work across SQL Server versions 2016–2022, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, and Azure cloud integrations, with emphasis on performance, security, and change control in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

SQL database administration is a core portion of the job (approx. 25%).
Server and software installation/administration are daily activities.
5+ years with MS SQL Server 2016–2022 and related tools.
Windows Server OS 2016+ in client and server roles.
Experience with MS Active Directory and Azure cloud is required.

Responsibilities

Administer SQL databases and related services across multiple servers.
Handle server/software installation and ongoing maintenance.
Monitor performance and troubleshoot complex production issues.
Participate in SOX/SOC II compliant change management and deployments.
Occasionally perform after-hours deployments as needed.
Document system configurations and processes.
