Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a hands-on Datacenter Technician for a contract role in Sunnyvale, CA, onsite. The position involves setup and maintenance of lab infrastructure, server and network rack-and-stack, and coordination with facilities to keep spaces inspection-ready.

Required: 5+ years in data center or lab environments; proficiency with structured cabling (Cat6/6A, LC); ability to read floor plans and rack elevations; strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on data center or lab experience.
• Proficient with copper and fiber cabling.
• Experience racking, stacking, and cabling servers and network gear.
• Able to read floor plans, rack elevations, and cable schedules.
• Strong organization and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Rack and stack servers, network gear, PDUs and test equipment in labs.
• Install and manage structured cabling — copper and fiber.
• Perform network patching on switches.
• Coordinate with facilities on break/fix issues.
• Escort vendors for BMS inspections of the space.
• Coordinate equipment moves, staging, and relocations across lab spaces.
• Prepare labs for fire inspections and document clearance requirements.
• Secure and organize restricted-access materials per inspection requirements.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, organization and storage areas.
• Support vendors on-site during deliveries, installations, and inspections.
