Job summary

Incedo Inc. is seeking a Lab & Field Hardware Technician to perform hands-on network and storage hardware work, basic lab host support, and shipping/inventory tasks at our Oakland, CA site. This mid–junior role involves following runbooks, coordinating with the team, and handling field tasks under supervision.

The position requires 3–5 years of relevant experience or a strong hands-on background, with on-site duties and a full-time contract. No architecture or design ownership is expected.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years (or equivalent) with server/appliance hardware, cabling, and safe rack/transport work.
• Basic hardware and network troubleshooting skills.
• Able to follow written steps, label work, and record serials/asset data.
• Reliable for local transport when needed; clear written handoffs for shipments and RMAs.
• Nice to have: exposure to containers, CI/CD and storage networks.

Responsibilities

• Network and appliance tasks including NIC moves and chassis relocations.
• Storage: disk and storage-unit replacements and drive swaps.
• Logistics: shipping, RMAs, inbound logistics and parts tracking.
• Lab IT: ESX, Hyper-V/Windows Server hosts and LAN/WAN coordination.
• Asset management: hardware inventory and retired-gear tracing.

Job Title: Lab & Field Hardware Technician/data Centre technician

Location: Oakland, California

Duration: Full-time

Level: Mid–junior (3–5 years relevant experience, or strong hands-on background with close supervision on unusual work)

Engagement: Full-time contract. Onsite/field work. Term and schedule with hiring manager.

Summary

Performs hands-on network and storage hardware work, basic lab host support, and shipping/inventory tasks. Follows runbooks and asks for help on complex or one-off issues. Does not own architecture or tool design.

Responsibilities

• Network / appliances: NIC moves, swaps, bypasses, and chassis relocations; Tetra/specialty NIC installs; switch wiring; in-path and WAN–LAN connectivity fixes.
• Storage: Disk and storage-unit replacements; drive swaps and field replacements (non-RAID flows as directed); spare parts.
• Logistics: Shipping, RMAs, peripherals; moving gear; PO/shipment tracking and inbound logistics.
• Lab: Cabling, patching, power-on, wake/sleep; facility/lab access coordination.
• Lab IT: ESX, Hyper-V / Windows Server hosts and LAN/WAN pairs (operate and troubleshoot with guidance).
• Other: General troubleshooting; remote syslog/logging server replacement as runbooked; hardware inventory and retired-gear tracing; use of internal analytics/DB/service endpoints and credentials per process; password sync and locked lab accounts for non-LDAP flows as trained.

Qualifications
