Job summary

SunnyData is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to drive customer success through hands-on data engineering and presales support. You’ll split time between delivering solutions on Databricks and guiding technical presales with clients.

You will design data pipelines, ensure governance and security, and mentor project teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as hands-on Solutions Architect or Senior Data Engineer, with recent Databricks experience.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end data analytics workflows (data modeling, ETL, data integration).
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Scala; strong client facing and presentation skills.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers; ability to guide projects.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers as trusted advisor to shape data engineering and architecture strategies.
• Design, build, and deploy data solutions for AI/ML and BI initiatives while contributing thought leadership.
• Partner with sales to present technical solutions to prospective clients.
• Manage multiple customer accounts with timely delivery and progress reporting.
• Architect data solutions with governance, security, and data quality considerations.
• Evaluate data sources and advise inclusion strategies to strengthen analytics.
• Guide internal teams and educate end users on data products and analytic environments.
• Diagnose data/system defects and implement fixes.
• Test data movement and transformations for accuracy and reliability.
