Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, operate, and secure the Databricks Lakehouse Platform across AWS and GCP. The role collaborates with data engineering, security, and business teams to enable enterprise analytics, AI/ML, and reporting at scale.

The successful candidate will lead platform operations, Unity Catalog, IAM, automation, and cost optimization while ensuring reliability and governance across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related functional experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support solution lifecycle technical activities with focus on user experience and performance.
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Audit, Operations and Compliance.
• Mentor less experienced team members and drive cost-effective, scalable solutions.
• Stay current with industry capabilities and evolving customer needs to inform roadmaps.
• Monitor solution health and drive improvements in availability and capacity.
